Kenya’s coast will come alive with music and culture from August 30th to September 1st, 2024, as the inaugural Sailing Music Festival takes place across three stunning locations – Malindi, Watamu, and Kilifi.
This groundbreaking 3-day festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Kenyan coast, blending live music performances with immersive cultural experiences only found in Kilifi county.
Headlined by legendary coastal artists Mzee Ngala as well as Juma Tutu and Swahili Jazz band, music lovers will also enjoy live performances by Osiro Music, MADCA Malindi and Chosen Band, a group of young talented musicians from Kivukoni School Kilifi.
Adding spice to the musical mix, Nairobi-based drummer Amani Baya and guitarist Jack Muguna will also bring their unique flavour to the coast. As well as Afrika Soul Collective featuring singer Nyawira Siren, percussionist Wakake Otieno and nyatiti player Kake Wakake. Interestingly, the Afrofusion Kenyan band was birthed in May 2024 at Beneath the Baobabs studio in the heart of Kilifi..
