It’s midnight,
Dogs are barking at ghosts
That walk around wailing,
Then silence came.
Crickets took away
The silence, stridulating.
Later,
Passing trucks changing gears uphill
Send crickets to silence.
All this while, I’m seated
Staring at the sky beauty;
Stars, the atmosphere
Whilst the cold penetrates
Through my dry, dark, skin.
My body shivers to wade away
The cold but I’m overwhelmed.
Later,
Willingly, I trudged
Back to the crib in silence
Not to wake the sleeping beauty
I left sleeping like a baby,
After a bitter argument.
