Nairobi jazz enthusiasts are set for a spectacular evening as the Women in Music Concert Series presents a special Jazz Edition on Friday, December 6th, 2024. The concert will feature two phenomenal jazz musicians: Kenyan trumpeter Christine Kamau and German saxophonist and vocalist Stephanie Lottermoser.
The two instrumentalists first crossed paths at the Jazzahead Festival in Germany earlier this year, where Christine Kamau represented African jazz alongside two other acts. This edition of the Women in Music Concert Series is supported by the Goethe-Institut, a German cultural organization.
“It’s a pleasure to collaborate with Stephanie Lottermoser, one of Germany’s leading female jazz artists. We hope this live performance fosters cultural exchange and dialogue between Kenya and Germany,” shared Christine Kamau.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Christine Kamau is an acclaimed Kenyan trumpeter whose music blends various styles while staying rooted in jazz. She has graced stages worldwide, including UNESCO’s Jazz Women in Africa and New York’s Festival of New Trumpet Music. Her extensive international resume includes performances in Nigeria, Zanzibar, Rwanda, Cameroon, and more.
Stephanie Lottermoser is a celebrated German jazz saxophonist and singer with six solo albums to her name. Known for her soulful and dynamic performances, she has toured globally, captivating audiences with her unique sound.
The concert promises an extraordinary musical experience, combining Stephanie Lottermoser’s groovy saxophone sounds with Christine Kamau’s vibrant Afro-jazz trumpet style.
