Nessy Vorreiter, a Germany-based Kenyan model, entrepreneur and fashion designer, is set to launch Simplyfemininenetwork a social networking organization that provides a platform for women to meet, connect, share their stories and inspire each other. Simplyfemininenetwork is more than just a social networking organization. It is a movement that seeks empower and restore dignity to women and children impacted by the criminal justice system in Kenya.
Simplyfemininenetwork recognizes the importance of providing basic amenities such as panties, which are often overlooked but necessary for a successful reconciliation with oneself and the community behind bars. By addressing these basic needs, Simplyfemininenetwork aims to give hope to women and children impacted by the criminal justice system and empower them to successfully reintegrate into society.
The statistics surrounding women in prison are staggering. There are currently 700,000 women imprisoned around the world, with 90% of imprisoned women in Kenya being single parents and breadwinners. Additionally, 60% of children with imprisoned mothers are below the age of 10 years, and 39% of imprisoned mothers do not know the whereabouts of their children. Finally, 69% of imprisoned women in Kenya are aged between 20 and 39 years.
Simplyfemininenetwork aims to bridge the gap between the prison system, the woman, her child, her mental state, her community, and her environment. They believe that by providing basic amenities, they can help restore a sense of dignity and hope to these women, leading to a successful reconciliation with themselves and their communities behind bars.
