Fast-rising Kenyan musical duo Funk Avenue released their much-awaited album ‘Now We Break Bread’ on 17th June 2022. The album coincides with an astonishing wave of momentum that suggests Funk Avenue are without a doubt the future of Kenyan music because of the well-written, catchy choruses and punchline flows they deliver.
The musical duo comprises of Dennis Karanja popularly known as Twist and Simon Muturi popularly known as Simz. The two are Kenyan rappers, songwriters, and entrepreneurs deeply rooted in the Kenyan hip-hop scene. The talented Kenyan musical duo was founded in 2017 in Limuru (115), Kiambu county.
Ever since Funk Avenue broke into the music scene in 2017, the duo has released quite a number of projects which are available on digital streaming platforms. Their most recent visual is called Frenzy which is receiving massive airplay both on radio & Tv stations.
Now We Break Bread literally means now we share a part of us in form of a record with everyone. The thought behind the album was to try and create different sounds from what is already in the industry but still tap in from where we are from and what we go through day to day. We both got in touch with our inner selves and shared pages of our lives with our fans.
Now we break bread is a 14-track album written and composed by Twist & Simz. The album was executive produced by Shaq Deff & Igamba Mbiu.
