How to handle the pressure in your 20’s

Spread the love

Yours 20s is sure to have you under some amount of pressure at times. I am confidently stating this because I am also currently surfing through my 20’s. Then again, pressure will always be there but this should not stop you from creating your perfect world once in a while just to get a breather when it feels unbearable sometimes.

Here are a few tips to help you as you navigate through your 20s

Respect your pace in growing.

Your pace in growing in the sense that you do not compare yourself to other people. It does not matter whether they are doing better than you or worse than you. As long as you keep improving and becoming better than your previous self, then you are on the right track. Yet again look ahead for more opportunities to rectify where you might have gone wrong. Respecting the pace at which you are growing yields maturity and self-awareness that can help in working on your weaknesses and investing in your strengths.

Be kind to yourself and let yourself rest

Do not be too hard on yourself because life is already putting you between a rock and a hard place. Treat yourself the way you would treat someone you would be in love with. The same way you can be kind to someone is the same way you should be able to be kind to yourself. Avoid pushing yourself to the wall and beating yourself up thinking that it’s for the best. Such things can be considered self-harm. Being kind to yourself encourages inner peace and hence productivity. When tired, rest darling! Rest is productive. Once you get enough rest you will be able to build back your energy and hence you will be productive. The wise men even said too much work and no play makes jack a dull boy.

Be confident in yourself

Believe in yourself and do not shy away from challenges. Challenges are just like a chance for you to discover your hidden potentials that you might have not known about. Fear gets you no where because once you fear you will not have the motivation to face the situation and if you do not face the challenge then you will be stuck in the same position for quite a long time.

Be open to learning new things

Not knowing something does not make one stupid, it just simply means that you were not aware of that and it is very normal for human beings to lack knowledge in some things. Be strong enough to be humble and be guided by other people who might know more than you do.

Always keep in mind that you and your peers are all running different races that require different types of effort so comparing yourself to others will not make sense.
